Hello again!

Unfortunately many of our planned updates didn’t take place because none of us were well enough, but we wanted to drop in an remind you that today is the General Election.

We need everyone to get out and vote. Vote with your conscience.

Remember what the government did to us, the country.

Our work doesn’t stop with this election: We need to gird our loins, no matter how unwell it makes us or how ill we feel, to make sure Long Covid stays front and centre with the next administration, because Covid is still an issue, with hundreds (if not thousands) still getting sick year round. We still see hundreds of Keyworkers joining online Long Covid support groups every month due to new Covid infections.

Our colleagues are still being denied ill health retirement. Still being denied benefits. Cass has been waiting to hear about Industrial Illness Disablement Benefit for a year!

There is no compensation or pension scheme for those significantly affected. There is no sign of change to the law or employment practices to recognise or support the many who are now disabled and need more input to stay working.

YOU can make a difference, even if the U.K. still uses First Past The Post: Swap your vote with someone, use the tactical voting websites for more information (see also this one).

We are all desperate for change. We won’t tell you how to vote, but four years on we don’t see this government has changed; they couldn’t even be bothered to respond to the over 125,000 of us who signed this petition.

Get out there and make a difference. VOTE.
