Campaign Update

Hi everyone, it’s Cass here.

In recent days, I’ve had to made a decision. That decision is to pull back from active campaigning and advocacy, as well as take a break from social media. 

In all honesty, it’s taking too much out of me and there’s a number of urgent priorities in my personal life that need attention. We aren’t a well community, with many of us unable to engage with campaigns or advocacy at all. I also don’t have a large enough social network, care or support, if I’m honest. The financial situation I am in, like many of you understand, is not good at all. 

I know the other members of the team are in a similar position: Currently, this isn’t sustainable for any of us, especially when there’s other priorities we HAVE to deal with.

We aren’t closing the campaign. However my having to take a step back for a significant period due to Long Covid, health and other priorities may mean we go quiet in terms of activity in the short to medium term. I certainly hope to be back, but I don’t know when that will be.

The email and petition are still here. There will still be people checking in, just probably less frequently than we have managed of late. Do please continue to write to your elected representatives, coping in the APPG and others, telling them your stories, asking for change. There’s lots of posts indicating how you can support Keyworkers with occupational long covid in terms of advocacy. We would love to hear how you get on.

With any luck I will be back before too long.
