According to the ASCPA, 1.5 million animals are killed in shelters all around the United States each year. This is in large part because so many animals are dropped off at shelters every year, and many shelters do not have the resources to care for them. The best way that we can save the lives of cats and dogs is by   refusing to buy from breeders and pet stores, and choosing to adopt non-human companions instead. Many cities and states have imposed regulations on breeders to curb companion animal overpopulation, but unfortunately, many breeders are circumventing the law by selling cats and dogs on Craigslist. We are calling upon Craigslist to protect animals and take responsibility for their platform, by banning the sale the living beings on their website.
