On June 1st, 2020 State Representative Craig Fishbein, representing the Connecticut 90th General Assembly District of Cheshire and Wallingford, shared a post on his Twitter that is offensive, racist, and completely unacceptable from an elected official. This Tweet was a meme featuring Joe Biden that read "If you aren't setting fire to buildings...THEN YOU AIN'T BLACK!". The post has since been removed but his true colors have been shown. 

We, the people of the beautiful and welcoming communities Wallingford and Cheshire, denounce this type of racist speech by someone elected to represent us. This type of hateful rhetoric will not be tolerated in our community and in no way reflects the values the residents of Wallingford and Cheshire share.

He does not represent us. We are calling for the immediate resignation of Craig Fishbein from his elected post of State Representative and Town Councilman.
