Thank you for supporting this petition. The volumes of signatures, sharing and viewings prove that there is a real problem in our local communities.

I am determined to take this further.

But like every community problem, it needs proper tools to unpick. So now we are starting a funding campaign on Indiegogo to raise awareness with couriers and to build a large online membership system which could fix this issue in our neighbourhoods.

With ParcelPointer (.com) everyone can list the nearby addresses where their parcels should be taken when they are out (so you don’t repeat yourself on every order form) – all couriers must check this online listing for the recipient address, and follow the instructions. And you can also decide which neighbours can nominate you for parcel collection (consent which is lacking currently).

But best of all, points are transferred between users for every delivery to an approved neighbour. So those who predominantly block their hallways with neighbour’s packages can now cash out the extra points earned, and those who predominantly forward no longer feel so bad about it. You also receive reward points for bringing users in, so you can start inviting your trusted neighbours and build delivery groups with them.

This system should hopefully help improve something that we already do currently (taking parcels for neighbours), by transforming it from arbitrary practices to a more user-controlled and fair system. Find out more from this video and by looking at the campaign page.
