A good man, Charles Freitag, committed suicide on 8-25-2018 in a Bucks County Jail while supposedly under suicide watch. Our attorney requested that he be sent to a Mental Health Hospital which was abruptly denied by Judge Diane Gibbons even though Charles was a first time offender with documented battles with mental illness and prior suicide attempts. He was given 6 to 12 years for a conviction of two counts of felony aggravated assault in which no one was injured except for his own self inflicted wounds. Sadly, the next day he abruptly took his life in the jail cell after our cries for help were ignored. This would have never happened if the courts were educated and equipped to properly handle these matters with a Mental Health Court. We have to live with the pain and loss of this tragedy that could and should have been avoided. Please help us to make sure this doesn’t happen to anyone else and provide your signature for the immediate creation of a mental health court in Bucks County. Thanks
