Today, myself and a few from our group, met at the Capital for a Day in Bonners Ferry where we met with Brad Little and many heads of state departments along with our legislators and DEQ and so forth. I felt we made great progress with everyone we spoke with and in the public forum we explained we didn't feel it right to FORCE a community to PAY an attorney to get the laws to enforced and get compliance and laws to be followed and there were others claiming the same problem as our group is having. Today the letter our group decided to write, with help of Citizens Against the Newport Smelter, was placed in our newspaper and also the Reader. Today at the meeting we had many tell us it helped them understand and they were supporting us. Here it is.
Open Letter in Newspaper today
Today we felt we got support from the Governor who told us how to move forward and is helping us contact the right people, we got support from our representatives and felt we got support from DEQ along with IDT. We left feeling like we had accomplished a lot.
We will be continuing to knock on doors in the neighborhood to get the information out to the public.
Also in the paper today is the opposition trying to dismiss our case. Our lawyer had a problem submitting our judicial review and the opposing party is asking for dismissal on the review. We will be having a hearing on June 19th. We will move forward assuming everything will work out the way God intended.
We will keep everyone up to date on the issues.
Thanks you,
