Hi Neighbors,

First, I want to thank you all for taking the time to support this cause.

I’m received some good news from Julie Won’s office: there are plans to install a crosswalk and traffic light at the intersection in the coming months. 

This will happen as part of a $2.5 million renovation of the plaza outside MoMA PS1.

The current plan is to complete the work by the end of Spring 2025 — though, as so often happens, this timeline is slipping a bit.

I’ll be attending the Queens Community Board 2 Transportation Subcommittee meeting on June 3rd with this petition in hand, to make clear how important it is to get this done as soon as possible.

I will also be advocating for additional changes to the streetscape in this area: the double parking and lack of loading zones is untenable.
