Save Parent Playgroups

Save Parent Playgroups
The Issue
The Parent-led Play Cooperative Amendment Act of 2018 protects the right of families to form cooperative playgroups and clarifies that playgroups should not be regulated like daycares. It is a common sense bill that enjoys broad D.C. Council support. But, in order to become law, the bill that will save playgroups must first be moved out of Committee by Councilmember David Grosso.
I support protecting the right of parents and their children to play together in organized cooperative playgroups. Cooperative playgroups are an important resource in our community for parents and children. I urge Councilmember Grosso to move the Parent-led Play Cooperative Amendment Act of 2018, as introduced, out of Committee, so that the bill can get a vote by the D.C. Council.
