Go ahead for Beddington Farmlands restoration

Thank you for your interest and support for the Beddington Farmlands nature reserve.  Sutton Council gave the go ahead for the revised plans to restore the site at its Planning Committee on 2 September 2026.  This includes a major change to replace acid grassland and heath with meadow and more detail on both public access and the water required for the site coming from the outfall of Thames Water's adjacent sewage works.

This is far from the end of the story. There is a lot of detail still to be worked through on planning conditions and the legal agreement that both Valencia and Thames Water (the freeholder) will have to sign with Sutton Council.
