Say NO to parking charges in New Brighton
The Labour Council in Wirral has scrapped parking charges on some days in Birkenhead but plans to introduce ‘pay and display’ charges around the seafront in New Brighton. This could force Morrisons, the Light Cinema and Bubbles play centre to do the same and push even more traffic into the residential roads nearby.
Tell our councillors to treat all parts of Wirral fairly and scrap the plan for charges in New Brighton.

Re: Say NO to parking charges in New Brighton, Moreton and Liscard
Dear Councillor Davies
We, the undersigned, are strongly opposed to the proposal for parking charges on the seafront at New Brighton.
We believe that the seafront should be available to all, regardless of ability to pay and this new tax will hit businesses in our community. It will also force retailers such as Morrisons to consider introducing charges in their car parks. The results will be to deter people from visiting New Brighton while forcing those who do come here to park in the already congested side roads.
We do not believe that introducing charges in New Brighton, while scrapping charges in Birkenhead, is fair or treating all parts of Wirral equally. We ask you to kick out this proposal and do your bit to help the economy in our towns.
