Hello all, Yesterday, we met with Councillor Perks. In terms of movement, there is not much to report. Gord reiterated that he cannot do anything specific for Tibet Kitchen or any particular business. He mentioned again his hope that Garab would move in to one of the properties that have existing restaurant licenses. These are locations that Garab has considered and has found unsuitable for a handful of reasons, however Gord reiterated that this is the only way he can imagine the situation being resolved. Simply put, we are not done. We are working with Garab and exploring several options to find a solution. At the moment, we have unique opportunity to change this by law, as it's currently under review. I will be posting a series of proposed amendments to the by-law, ones that hopefully maintain the intent of the by-law without creating consequences like these. I will be sending these to Joanna Kimont, the Planner responsible for this review, and Councillor Perks. I hope you will take the time to review these proposed changes and send them as well.
