A further nail in Schengen coffin

Hi fellow Europeans. I was at a meeting in Copenhagen and choose an hotel in nearby Malmoe (Sweden). These two parts of Danemark and Sweden have been without border control since decades, even before the Schengen agreement. Not anymore ! On the way to Sweden the train stops at the Airport station, all passengers must deboard, walk up and down and go to a passport control area (see pictures; see to believe !) before being allowed to reboard the train to Sweden. At the first station in Sweden there is a new passport control. The personnel enacting these checks are gentle but definitely poorly trained: one of them, at the look of my Italian ID said "Italy is not in the EU", then questioned the validity of my document (a brand new digital ID card). On the train many people complain about these checks and agree they are a waste of resources: I counted no less than 50 people doing the checks, meaning no less than 200 employees are needed to maintain a 24/7 control, plus all the cost of fences etc etc [see pictures]. Swedish government: send these resources to Sicily or to Greece ! But the problem, as a nice Swedish couple pointed out, is that we consider ourselves Swede, Italian or other before considering us "Europeans". Imagine "German" (not "European") troops patrolling the borders of Greece; most Greeks would consider this a sort of "Nazi invasion". The truly tragic dimension of the problem is that, as a colleague pointed out in Copenhagen, "we have very limited time left": the next exodus, the next financial crisis will make us to implode if we do not evolve quickly toward a more real and united Europe.
