Dr. Steins Bagel Dogs are a cult favorite of any Costco shopper of the late 90’s to early 2000’s. A significant snack in my grandparents household. Those delicious frozen hot dogs wrapped in a warm breakfast pastry were the pinnacle of childhood innocence, symbolic of a simpler time. I would enjoy these for a lunch by the pool, sharing with my childhood dog. They were my grandpa and I’s favorite. He developed the perfect cooking time; one minute and seventeen seconds in the microwave made for a warm tender outside and hot center. Cut the top of the bagel take out the hot dog to cool it and apply your favorite condiments in the bagel before replacing the hot dog. Enough with the anecdotes though, this brand was wildly popular, having the ability to purchase a large pack at Costco of the very convenient snack. I believe these were a staple of most households. Dr. Steins has not been in Costco’s since 2009. I have tried all avenues of getting a hold of them for even just one pack for the sake of reliving old memories with my grandfather. I’d like for this petition to reach Costco executives that may have the connections to bring Bagels Dogs back into production. It’s a smart financial move to market on nostalgia. It’s been about 10 years since we’ve had the pleasure of picking up Bagel Dogs from our local Costco’s frozen section. There’s a new generation that can experience the snack, and generations before who can enjoy it once again. So please sign my petition and share it so it may garner the attention it needs to accomplish my goal.
