Keep wolves out of Colorado

This petition had 2,804 supporters

Keep Colorado’s wildlife population thriving. The wolf population in several states such as Idaho, Oregon, Montana and now Wyoming has sea images wildlife and livestock. The wolf does not have any natural predator other than the human, with high predator populations already claiming our state we cannot afford to see a wolf population here. Ranchers will be eaten out of business. There is a false claim that there is a government fund that can be paid back to ranchers who lose stock to wolves and predators, this is false while there is something in place, the fund itself has been drained dry. This would be detrimental to our agricultural society and our elk herd and moose herd in northern Colorado (largest elk herd in the world with numbers already falling and largest moose herd in the lower 48). A wolf species did once roam Colorado but that wolf was half the size of the Gray or sometimes called the timber wolf that they plan to introduce here. IT IS NOT A NATIVE SPECIES. The goal with the Sierra club and pro wolf fan clubs are to take these meetings into ski towns in hiding where people will not be effected and the most wildlife these people have seen is the groomed ski hill. They do not understand the horrible impact this would have for us. Please stand together, call your legislators, get your voice heard and don’t stop until it is! Sign and send this petition all over. Thank you!
