An end to the use of single use plastics and non biodegradable packaging

The beaches in Barry, South Wales and all around the UK coastline are beautiful yet at the end of each sunny weekend they are coated in litter, the bins are over flowing with single use plastics, with packaging on the sand and whilst efforts are made to clean up once the culprits have departed some of it is being washed into the sea.
Even much of the collected rubbish is sent off to land fill and not recycled. Many small businesses are switching to reusable cups, less single use plastics and less harmful packaging but the lead should be taken by government and big business as once they are involved the availability and cost of these option will be on a per with cheap plastic alternatives.
