BREAKING NEWS (On the grapevine)

We’ve just had a conversation with a close friend who is potentially affected by the compulsory purchase of his land and cottage, to enable the Hayle South development outrage.

The very well connected land agent he is using, let slip that the Kremlin (Cornwall Council) is in serious a pickle on at least three fronts:

1- The Hayle South proposal involves the Kremlin acquiring the land by compulsory purchase to sell on to developers, which the valuer asserts is illegal.

2- The Loggans roundabout scheme depends on the housing development to secure funding; funding which may not now be forthcoming because of the illegality of the compulsory purchase attempt!

3- The same valuer is also acting on behalf of clients involved in the Langarth fiasco, which is not as cut and dried as the ''Kremlin truth brokers'' would have us believe; the land agent suggests these stories will very soon be in the local media.

Note that these growing number of cases of crass incompetence, ineptitude and/or deliberate illegality by officers at Cornwall Council is costing taxpayers millions; so you and we are paying for this giant Cornish mess via our council taxes, whilst no action is ever taken against the expensive fools at Cornwall Council who perpetrate these misdeeds. worth remembering when your council tax bill keeps reaching for the skies...
