Following the announcement that several surgeries have now closed their doors to new patients, after the NHS refused more funding in the summer, thus sending thousands of new residents to Treliske Hospital for minor injuries and illnesses, Cornwall Council officers, Cabinet and Strategic planning committee members (chaired by Threemilestone Cllr Dulcie Tudor) are forging ahead with plans for a new 4,000-house town on grade A farmland between Treliske and Chiverton.

And the best part? You’re paying for it through future council taxes; £600 million of it!

Please see below the information on the Cornwall Council website regarding the Langarth Garden Village events.

The first event is being held at St Agnes on Wednesday, 09 October, with further events taking place at Highertown, Threemilestone, Chacewater and Shortlanesend. All the events will run from 2pm to 7pm so that as many people as possible have the opportunity to attend.

• 09 October - St Agnes, Miners and Mechanics
• 10 October - Highertown All Saints Church
• 11 October - Threemilestone Primary School
• 18 October - Chacewater Village Hall
• 25 October - Shortlanesend Village Hall
