THE DYING DAYS OF THE HOUSE OF KENNALLY, BETTY & PAYNTER?
We are at a tipping point that will be defined by this latest outrageous fiasco.
Public anger has been bubbling away for some time under the surface, and it has been pointedly ignored by the ''place shapers'' in their scramble to strip-mine short term profits from our economy, irrespective of the consequences they are inflicting on their victims in the process.
They have attempted an economic revolution based on unsound principles which means that they are actually delivering a house of straw built on shifting sands less stable than a Persimmon home.
The now inevitable pushback must be a peaceful revolution that rams home our absolute disapproval and total rejection of what is being perpetrated in our names.
The carpetbagger-profiteers and snake oil salesmen, such as Mr Betty (john.betty@cornwall.gov.uk), must be ejected from the corridors of Lys Kernow, to enable Cornwall to begin the long hard road back to recovery from the damage these Philistines have inflicted upon us.
Latest Cornwall Council News:
Cornwall councillors have called for better controls after a senior director was able to sign off spending of £2.5million without getting approval.
https://cornwallreports.co.uk/cornwall-council-official-spent-2-5-million-without-approval/
Whatever's going on at Cornwall Council? First, we hear that £2.5m was spent by John Betty, strategic director of 'economic growth' without authorisation. Then we're told it was authorised. This is the same John Betty who was mysteriously moved in September to become an 'advisor' to Chief Executive Kate Kennally, Meanwhile, councillors are like startled rabbits caught in the headlights of the place engineering being imposed on Cornwall by a set of peripatetic, placeless carpetbaggers and complicit locals who claim to 'lead' us. Time to push for a re-democratisation of Cornish government - replace Cornwall Council with two or three lower level unitary local authorities and a streamlined strategic assembly.

Sorry bit of a rant but need it.
Just had a massive flood in my house Friday night of urine and faeces due to workers throwing wet tar down the drain instead of disposing it correctly! It blocked all my drains and flooded my house, twice. My house was the first to go and neighbours’ drains were the same and just ready to flood, but luckily was caught on time. No one on call over the weekend and wouldn’t put me in a hotel unless I paid for it first, which I couldn’t afford. Currently still not fixed, and sleeping on my mum’s floor with my puppy and boyfriend. Still trying to fight for a hotel, guys came to deep clean the house after the flooring came up downstairs but no one came to move my washing machine, sofas, or fridge freezer that had all been pulled out to clean under them and the kick-plates in kitchen weren’t removed and still have puddles slowly coming out from under there so will need another deep clean builders had came in to look at the damage and went through in their shoes to look at the damage etc and then trailed it all upstairs when moving all my belongings up there to get flooring up, so I requested new flooring all over the house and they’ve only booked me flooring for downstairs keep feeling like I’m being picky etc but feels horrible going back to my home knowing it’s not fully clean and it stinks of sewage I’ve had nothing but hassle with persimmon and it’s been the worst experience for my first house, seriously going out of my mind now and it’s genuinely affecting me mentally now; anyone else had a problem like this? Any advice on how to battle them with the hotel situation as they will not pay it for me if I gave them the hotel number to phone and pay for me, I need to pay first and then they’ll reimburse me.
This is a 6 month old house built by persimmon (price: 300k)
The flagship of their range: The Chedworth
In Sherburn in elmet
North Yorkshire
Note the diabolical brickwork

Why can't Taylor Wimpey just Fix my House! They have sunk to a new low today.
They refused to talk to us properly about a proposed remedial solution to our missing acoustic insulation so after months of getting nowhere we began the small claims procedure and sent a letter of action before small claims. They didn't respond so I chased them up -
Their solicitor sent a snoty email 17 days after we sent our email saying I hadn’t allowed them enough time to respond (I had given 21 days) under Pre-Action Protocol for Construction and Engineering Disputes which states 28 days.
I wrote back explaining that I had misunderstood the reasonable time allowed but in fact as they had not acknowledged receipt of my email within 14 days they were in fact themselves in breach of said protocol and as claimants we would now be entitled to commence proceedings without further compliance with this Protocol. However, we were keen to find a resolution without the need for court action so would be prepared to wait the full 28 days ( close of business today)
The solicitor has just sent me an email stating that it does not have a contractual relationship with myself only my husband ( full name given in email and the date he signed the contract) and they will no longer speak with me! This is despite spending the last 4 1/2 years dealing with mainly myself, agreeing resolutions with myself and not once have they referred to the fact that the contract is solely in my husbands name.
This is so vey frustrating as it is clearly a delaying tactic - plus my husband signed the letter before action to which they were supposed to respond so I don’t know what difference it makes!
Surely Taylor Wimpey, it would be more cost effective to fix my house than to waste money on your hot shot
solicitor- you are wasting my time and its desperately unfair.
How can such a big purchase come with so little protection?
— feeling sad.
ASHAMED with Taylor Wimpey!
It has now been a year since we moved into our supposedly dream new build home. It has also been a year since we first complained about the poor quality and condition of the groundwork and lawn provided. Yet, so far to no avail.
The recent dry spell has now also revealed apparent short cuts and poor quality of workmanship that before was hidden from view. Shrinkage of the soil from the wooden retaining wall and brick wall has revealed the lack of drainage provided behind with very little, if any crushed stone. YouTube is very useful at showing you how a job should be completed.
It does make one wonder what other short cuts have been taken and what, or what is not in the the foundations of the house itself!
The poor quality of the groundwork has also resulted in part of my fencing now leaning inwards. We are still waiting for this issue to be resolved.
Taylor Wimpey are by far not the cheapest option available when considering buying a new build and one would expect much better quality for the price paid. We have now lost faith in their product.
If the same poor quality had been associated with an item bought in a shop you would return it and seek a refund. Perhaps Taylor Wimpey would like their house back and refund me my outlay as this is not the quality that I paid for. We have not been able to use our garden properly for now over one year.
So, if you are thinking of purchasing a property from Taylor Wimpey, I would think again.
If you need to complain to an officer or councilor who’s been overseeing, encouraging and/or pushing this sort of shoddy and expensive development, whilst running down all our basic community services, you can either go straight to the (unhappy customer) FB sites (Persimmon, Wain, Taylor Wimpey, Linden, Kier, Barratt), or can write to them direct here:
