Meanwhile, and looking at Cornwall Council's gigantic debt mountain (around £2bn including pension shortfall), here's what one supporter had to say about its business practices: "I spoke to someone today who said that at the end of every year, a few tradesmen who do work for CC are summoned to Lys kernow and they are handed cheques for thousands of pounds. It can be £5,000, £20,000, £35,000. The money is what CC hasn't spent from their annual budget. Now, rather than use the money to reduce their debt, or put it into our struggling essential services, or hand it back to whence it came; no, they flitter it away to contractors so as they get a similar budget next time around. For f**** sake, I couldn't make it up if I tried."
