Save Cornell Cornell Cinema

Cornell Cinema, Cornell University's student programmed independent on-campus movie theater in the basement of Willard Straight Hall, is facing a budget crisis that could be potentially devastating to the organization. The Student Assembly Appropriations Committee (AC) has recommended ELIMINATING Cornell Cinema’s activity fee allocation - $150,000 (or 30% of the operating budget), which could potentially close the curtain on the Cinema permanently.
Please sign this petition and urge your fellow Cornellians to do the same in an effort to encourage current Assembly Members to overturn the Appropriations Committee’s recommendation to defund Cornell Cinema, and instead grant them the $8.50/student they requested for the next two years. That time is vital to Cornell Cinema as they hope to use those years to establish funding independent of the Student Assembly.
If in addition to signing this petition you want to continue to help the Cinema, you can donate money specifically earmarked for the operation of the theater! For more information, simply call or email Cornell's Alumni Affairs Office.
Don't let the Student Assembly pull the rug out from under them and decimate a valued campus resource!
*With your name, please also put your graduation year! Thank you!*
