This morning I received an email from the Forest Preserve District in response to an email I sent them asking for an update on the application packet that I sent in regarding changing the Hal Tyrel Trailside museum to the Virginia Moe Trailside Museum. Please note that I had a virtual meeting back in the spring with General Superintendent Arnold Randel and his team. At that meeting Superintendent Arnold told me that he appoints a committee to study the application. If they vote yes for the application , then Superintendent Arnold takes that recommendation to the Cook County Board for a vote. There was no mention of a second committee (task force). There is also no mention of a second committee (task force) on the application. I am all for a “equity” task force, however there was no mention of it ever!! Here is the email I received. I have not responded yet.  I will though . Any thoughts, ideas , suggestions, etc. would be appreciated.

Thanks so much for your email.  At its June meeting, the Naming Committee decided that it would not undertake any renaming or naming of new preserves until the Equity, Cultural Sensitivity and Inclusion Task Force has completed its report and recommendations. The Task Force is aiming to complete its work by end of November this year.   May we ask for your patience?
