Hey everyone,
Today is March 20, 2026 and I just realized it's Chris Wedge's 69th birthday... man that hit me hard. The guy who literally started Blue Sky and directed Ice Age, Robots, and Epic. Happy Birthday Chris!! 🎂 Hope you're doing okay.
But here's the gut punch — today is also exactly 7 years since Disney dropped $71.3 billion to buy 20th Century Fox. They said they'd keep the magic alive... yeah right. Two years later they just shut Blue Sky down in 2021 like it was nothing. Hundreds of people lost their jobs, all those amazing films just... gone.
I still watch Ice Age with my little cousins and they lose their minds over Scrat. Rio, Robots, Epic — all of it. It makes me so mad that Disney just threw it away while they keep making live-action remakes nobody asked for.
We have to do something. If you ever loved any Blue Sky movie, please sign the petition right now. We're so close to 200 signatures and this anniversary feels like the perfect time to push.
Drop your favorite Blue Sky memory in the comments? Mine is probably Scrat and the acorn... still cracks me up every time 😂
Share this with your friends on Facebook, Instagram, wherever — let's actually get Disney to hear us for once.
Thanks for reading this, seriously. Let's bring Blue Sky back.
