Many people had said this was a done deal and nothing could be done about it. Thank you to those who have signed and shared this Petition and to those who showed up at the meeting on Thursday. We've already achieved 1 major goal in having YAI acknowledge the chemical dependent short-term treatment on one floor for Young Adults. They say it was an old paper that was meant for a different lease and was a clerical error and should not have been added. They will be amending the lease over the next few weeks to eliminate that part. Next step is to have them add stipulations to the 30-year lease that can be amended at any time to stipulate certain conditions over the 30 years as to who can not be housed in the old convent, such as chemically dependent adults, criminally insane adults, Pedophiles etc...It took all of your signatures and support to get us to this point- now we must continue with the momentum.
