Now through March 27th (till 8 pm): Check out the Friends of Wakefield’s NEMT Forest (“Save the Forest”) online fundraising auction! Proceeds will benefit greatly needed conservation efforts here in Massachusetts.
Why are we fundraising?
The auction proceeds will ensure that efforts to preserve the remaining forested wetlands at the Northeast Metro Tech school in Wakefield, MA, will continue- most significantly through supporting the Ten Residents' Appeal of the MA Department of Environmental Protection's overturning of Wakefield Conservation Commissions denial of the project under the state Wetlands Protection Act (WPA). We hope and believe, the appeal can positively impact future projects in the state and impact how MassDEP conducts its evaluations going forward. Read more about the issue and appeal here. Sign up for updates about this work at nemtforest.org.
The auction includes 11 items with a focus on experiences and services and is open now through Wednesday, March 27th, at 8 pm.
(The services and experiences in this auction are local to Eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.)
