Once again thank you to all our lovely parents, families and supporters who took the time to sign our petition and write to local councillors in regards to the potential sale of Meadowbank stadium. A little update for you…
 The Petition
The threshold to get the issue debated at a meeting of all Mole Valley District Council Councillors (ie ‘Full Council’ as opposed to the smaller ‘Cabinet’ group) was 800 signatures. According to the MVDC website, “Any person who lives, studies or works in the district, including under 18s, can sign an existing petition”. We delivered the petition (with 860 signatures) on Thursday, however MVDC rejected it after discounting any signatories from outside of Surrey. We know we have girls who come from just across the border in West Sussex, just as we know people from London travel into Mole Valley for work purposes, so we find this disappointing and frustrating.
 Meeting with MVDC
We and other local grassroots clubs have been invited to a meeting with MVDC and Dorking Wanderers tomorrow evening (Monday). We are unsure if this meeting is the “consultation” that Stephen Cooksey promised in his latest statement. Each club has been invited to take one or two committee members plus one parent representative; we have a really strong MVG team for this We are pulling together all the questions and issues that need raising.
If you have any questions or issues that you would like us to take to the meeting (that haven’t already been covered in our previous messages etc) please do email these in to treasurer@mvgfc.co.uk We can’t guarantee every question will be asked, as time will be limited and it will be a busy room. But we will do our best to represent you.
Thank you for all your support
