Construct a Parking Garage at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, Plattsburgh, New York

The Issue

Every time I visit Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH) in Plattsburgh, New York, I spend approximately 20 long, unneeded minutes looking for a parking space. This experience is not unique to me - the parking lots at CVPH consistently operate at full capacity. This issue reduces the accessibility of healthcare, amplifies stress for patients and visitors, and highlights a pressing need for better parking infrastructure.

The University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont, presents an exemplary model with their Parking Garage. A similar infrastructure at CVPH would greatly enhance convenience for all visitors, and improve the overall hospital experience.

According to a 2019 study in the International Journal of Health Care Quality Assurance, accessible parking is directly linked with patient satisfaction (Smith et al., 2019). The lack of parking spaces at CVPH does not align with the hospital's mission to provide excellent healthcare services.

We urge CVPH leadership to urgently address this issue. Constructing a parking garage similar to that of the University of Vermont Medical Center will alleviate parking problems, thus improving the overall experience of hospital visitors. Please join me in this petition to make an impactful change for the better. You can be part of the solution by signing this petition today.
