Each year we allow our animals and wildlife to be terrified because of fireworks which are designed to make the loudest bangs or the most ear piercing screams. We don't consider the effect this has on them.

The incredibly loud and unexpected noises are both painful to animal's much more sensitive hearing and extremely frightening since these are noises that are unpredictable, unexpected and since they come from all directions, seem to be unavoidable.

Our animals have absolutely no idea what is going on and in the panic they can become anxious, fearful, sometimes runaway or worse drop dead with fear and this is acceptable because the public must be allowed the freedom to purchase small explosives once a year. Why is this allowed? Its selfish madness.

This year the Italian town of Collecchio switched to silent fireworks out of respect to their animals and wildlife.

This is a petition for Scotland to follow this wonderful caring example and change the law in the hope others will follow our example.
