Our push to designate Pizza as the official State Food of Connecticut has made National news in recent weeks all due to the first steps taken by the two New Haven legislators we approached. The Pizza Bill is now real, being HB 5656 and one out of more than 2000 bills presented to the Connecticut General Assembly this year.

Once news broke nearly every local media outlet spread the word, leading to comments from Dan Rather, Stephen Colbert officials from New Jersey & New York, and even Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy backing New Haven as the Pizza Capital of the United States! All this attention, whether pro or con, has brought more light to CT's amazing pizza and the families and workers that make them. Please keep spreading the word and stay tuned for the next steps. Soon there will be a public hearing where we can all voice our support for #ThePizzaBill.
