Many of the over 4,100 who signed this traffic petition know the core issue is the same: Sooke and many other BC towns and cities are growing faster than our infrastructure and funding.

That pressure shows up in two other places:

• the Sooke Tax Petition, calling for a slowdown on large yearly increases

• the BC-wide petition, asking the BC NDP government to fix the funding model so municipalities aren’t relying almost entirely on property taxes while handling downloaded provincial responsibilities

Traffic, infrastructure and taxes are connected.
