Hi All,
I am pleased to share that tonight, Nillumbik Shire Council voted unanimously to accept this petition as an advocacy priority of the Council.
Cr Kate McKay spoke passionately at length about the benefits of the proposed pedestrian rail crossing at Coolabah Reserve, and Cr Kelly Joy gave her wholehearted support, pointing out that people don't live in council wards, they live in communities, and this one is split down the middle. Cr Kim Cope voiced his support as well before the vote was passed unanimously.
This is an important step as we continue to advocate to the Minister for Public and Active Transport and the Department of Transport and Planning.
Thank you all for your support, without it, we wouldn't have got this far. Every signature will count in this next phase, so please share the petition with your friends and relatives and ask them to join us.
Kind regards,
David Baxter
