Petition update'One of the worst days of my life:' Stop sham 'Start By Believing' investigationsVictim-Think: Activists Have Banned Key Legal Words
SAVE
Jan 31, 2021

Have you ever noticed how activists pushing victim-centered, Start By Believing, and trauma-informed methods avoid certain key words and phrases? Words like:

  • Presumption of innocence
  • Due process
  • Alleged
  • Complainant

This is not a mere oversight. It's because these activists don't believe in the "presumption of innocence" and "due process." And they hold a quasi-religious belief that complainants should always be presumed to be "victims."

When certain words don't exist, then the underlying concept loses its vitality and force.

George Orwell would have had a name for this: "Victim-Think."
