Some Ontario College Efficiency Reports have now been made public, and send a chilling message. They clearly reveal a strategic plan to replace hard-working individuals —faculty and support staff — with impersonal tools like automation, AI, and outsourcing, and through the corporatization of "training". This is not merely about cutting costs; it is about sacrificing the quality of education that has long served our students and community well. As faculty and support staff, we feel that this is a betrayal of the trust we have built as a community, and is a serious threat to the educational standards we work so hard to maintain.

The word around the college is filled with whispers about mergers and campus closures, but nothing has been formally communicated to the very people who make this institution run every day. We are left in the dark about our futures, the future of Confederation College and the future of this community. 

We are calling upon President Michelle Salo to release the full Efficiency Report to Local 732 (faculty) and Local 731 (support) immediately. It is imperative for the administration to be truthful and upfront with its employees rather than keeping us in the shadows.
