Our collective voices are building momentum on cracking down sexual harassment, abuse and violence by perpetrators like Dr. Buyinza Faisal who use their positions of power afforded by institutions in Makerere University and demanding for justice for victims and accountability for perpetrators.

On Monday 26th October, 2026, the Parliament's Public Accounts Committee of the central government (PAC-Central) chaired by Hon. Patrick Nsamba Oshabe, cornered Makerere University delegation led by the University Secretary Yusuf Kiranda on the actions being taken on the recent harassment concerns raised by Hanifa Nakiryowa against Dr. Buyinza Faisal. This follows the Uganda Women's parliamentary Association's chairperson's stand on ensuring that Hanifa Nakiryowa's perpetrator Dr. Buyinza Faisal is held accountable for his actions. Now the issue has taken a broader turn to ensure all students are safe and all perpetrators are held accountable.

This increasing awareness could not be achieved without the support of every single signature and every single voice added to this petition.
