The petition has since grown to 1000 and I would suggest it's important to review the comments. https://www.change.org/p/completely-e Born and bred Sheffielders, my own roots go back to at least 1780, feel we are being ignored at the city is more focused on the student and middle class who have recently come into the city due to the University and Public sector. You will find that born and bred Sheffielders aren't happy with the direction of the city, I would say this is an understatement. We aren't backwards our hole in the rd from the 1960s was more futuristic than anything that the city now has, everything looks like my Lego land of the 1960s devoid of any soul. Our beautiful peace gardens are now a soulless concrete jungle ( I am told its stone not concrete). Modern builds should be even better than the 1900s to the eye, but they are not. The French Castle was a totally new build, whereas the Sheffield Castle would be a rebuild on an existing Castle said to be at least the largest Castle in the North of England. There may be an interim solution to create a Holographic image of the Castle on the site at night using Orbs, the Chinese are experts in this. This would bring the whole site to life and create a massive tourist attraction to Sheffield. I have been accused of being backward, but I am actually forward thinking and think we have to encompass our past in the march forward. I came out of the Steel works to be a manager at HSBC's Head Office in Sheffield. Industry should be more important than the service sector in Sheffield and we have let our household brands be destroyed. Yours in anticipation Tim
