Martin Gorman from friends of the Castle tells me the East wall is being excavated.  I found some pictures from the past showing a 24 ft wall that have now disappeared on the internet.

But what also concerns me is the Castle wall along Castlegate.  I think its clearly visible in this old photo.  https://friendsofsheffieldcastle.org.uk/castle-market-from-above/  Its now hidden behind a concrete wall.
