So far we've managed to collect over 187 signatures in 3 weeks from individuals that recognise how horrible this stretch of missing footpath is for our community and how much of a failure it is for our Council to continue to ignore it.

Not satisfied with 187 signatures though, the Algona Footpath Action Group last night initiated Step 1 of our Awareness Campaign, installing signage at a number of points of interest as well as along the path.

Step 2 of our Awareness Campaign will be to letterbox drop the 800 properties connected to Algona Road.

Most previous petitions submitted to council recently have had around 100-150 signatures; Algona Footpath Action Group wants to make sure our voices can't be silenced and ignored though and as such, has a lofty goal of getting at least 300 signatures prior to submitting to council.

The AFAG greatly appreciates everything you have all done so far in taking the time to sign our petition, but if you could please find a minute to forward this update onto 1 or 2 friends that may not have signed, we would be able to reach our target very quickly.
