Letter has been sent to Council

Hi Nambucca Community,

I wanted to let you all know that today I formally submitted our petition, covering letter and detailed evidence dossier to Nambucca Valley Council, the Mayor, all Councillors, Michael Kemp MP and Pat Conaghan MP.

The petition has now reached 527 signatures. More than $250 has also been contributed through Change.org to help the petition reach more people.

I have now provided the official downloaded signature record directly to Council as verification of the support behind this petition. Because it contains the names and locations of signatories, it has been sent privately and will not be posted publicly.

This has never been about stopping lawful parking enforcement. It is about asking whether our parking system is being administered with fairness, compassion and proper consideration for older people, people with disability, medical patients, carers and families.

The submission also asks Council to properly examine accessible parking around Kent Street and Ridge Street, access to the medical centre, pathology, pharmacy, library and post office, the use of the taxi rank, safe passenger collection areas, and the accessibility of the Council carpark behind the Golden Sands Tavern.

Thank you to every person who signed, shared, commented, donated or trusted me with their own experience. Your support has shown that this concern extends well beyond one incident.

The submission is now with Council. I will update the community when it has been formally acknowledged and when Council provides its response.
