When asked to describe Michael, his friends would say he’s kind, patient and caring. His family would describe him as warm, a great father, and a loving son. His fellow Airmen have said he was trustworthy, inspiring, and a great leader. During his trial the State’s own witnesses also testified that Michael appeared to be a calm individual who did not encourage or do anything to deserve the attack he received. And lastly both the court officer and the Judge agreed that a 25 year sentence was overly harsh considering the facts of the case. Still the State Prosecutor Jack Campbell felt Michael, with no prior record, or history of violence – deserved to serve a MANDATORY 25 year sentence for defending himself. We still pray as we wait for Michael’s hearing June 1st. We firmly believe that your support is a blessing, as your voice and opinion carries so much weight, and influence. We ask that you continue to call the Florida State Attorney's Office at 1-850-606-6000. More updates to come soon. As always, thank you for signing his petition.
