Dear friends,
Yesterday afternoon, House Bill 2468 was passed by the State House of Representatives in a remarkable, bi-partisan vote of 179-18. The Bill requires court approval before any entity—like the Lower Merion School District—can seize a property preserved by a conservation easement.
This is great news in our fight to protect Stoneleigh: A Natural Garden—and other lands in Pennsylvania protected under conservation easement—from the threat of eminent domain!
Our sincere gratitude goes to Rep. Warren Kampf, Rep. Kate Harper, and Rep. Marcy Toepel who introduced the legislation alongside 26 other original sponsors.
Now the next hurdle: the Bill moves to the Senate for a vote.
We need your help!
Please use this link to contact your Senator today and urge him or her to work for passage of HB 2468 before the Senate adjourns for the summer, and to oppose amendments that might weaken the Bill.

We can make this happen! If you'd rather call your Senator, here's an easy way to look up his or her phone number. http://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/legis/home/findyourlegislator/
As always, thank you for your unflagging support.
Sincerely,
Molly K. Morrison
