The online petition is for anyone who resides in or outside of Lincoln Township to sign. The attorney encouraged that a large number of signatures would help strengthen and support our cause, even beyond the minimum requirements.
 
We’d also like to take a moment to address some confusion and concern about the remonstrance petition.
 
From the beginning, our goal was to have one unified petition. However, as we moved forward, we discovered that due to legal limitations, this wasn’t feasible. The remonstrance petition could only have a maximum of 25 verified signatures, with only 12 required. Because of this restriction, we couldn’t open it up for everyone to sign.
 
To ensure everyone in Lincoln Township still had a chance to be heard, we created a supporting petition that will be filed alongside the remonstrance petition. This ensures township residents still have a voice in the official process.
 
Additionally, we wanted those outside Lincoln Township, especially those who will be impacted by the vacating of Holder Road, to have their voices heard as well. That’s why we started an online petition, which is open to everyone.
 
We sincerely apologize for any confusion or frustration. This process didn’t unfold the way we initially planned, but we’ve done our best to adapt and make sure every voice counts. Thank you for sticking with us!
