COMMUNITY SUPPORT FOR MANSSOUR AMER - HUMANITARIAN AND COMPASSIONATE CONSIDERATIONS
The Issue
This letter is a show of community support for Mr. Manssour Amer in his application for permanent residence in Canada on humanitarian and compassionate grounds.
We understand that Mr. Amer is asking Canada for an opportunity to establish a safe, stable, and permanent future for himself and his family. We respectfully ask Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada to consider the human circumstances surrounding his application, including his family responsibilities, the difficulties that have shaped his life, the interests of his children, and his sincere desire to build a lawful and productive life in Canada.
Mr. Amer is a citizen of Syria who has spent a significant portion of his adult life outside his country of citizenship. For many years before coming to Canada, he lived and worked in Kano, Nigeria, where he worked hard to provide for his family and progressed professionally. His employment history reflects that he is hardworking, responsible, and committed to supporting the people who depend upon him.
Mr. Amer is presently residing in Hamilton, Ontario with his eldest son, Hazem, who is studying in Canada. Although Mr. Amer has only recently arrived in Canada, his reasons for seeking a future here are significant. He hopes to establish the type of permanent and secure life that has remained difficult for him and his family to achieve elsewhere.
Family is at the centre of Mr. Amer's life. Manssour and his wife, Lina, are raising their four sons Hazem, Amir, Amer, and William together. His family has experienced separation and uncertainty across different countries. Hazem is presently with him in Canada, while his wife and other children remain outside Canada. Mr. Amer's hope is not simply to improve his own circumstances, but to create a stable foundation for his entire family and to provide his children with greater security and opportunity.
As members of the community, we recognize the importance of stability and family unity. Children should, whenever possible, have the opportunity to grow with the support of their parents, continue their education, and plan for their futures without constant uncertainty about where their family will be able to live.
Although Manssour worked in Nigeria for many years, his circumstances there did not provide the permanent stability he was seeking. Returning to Syria would also require him to start over after spending many years building his working and family life elsewhere. At this stage of his life, after decades of working, raising his children, and supporting his family, having to begin again would cause significant hardship.
Mr. Manssour Amer also has important family connections in Canada. His sister resides in Edmonton, Alberta with her family, while his son Hazem is studying in Hamilton. These relationships provide him with emotional and practical support and give him a meaningful family connection to Canada.
Mr. Amer has demonstrated throughout his adult life that he is capable of working, supporting himself, and providing for his family. He is not seeking permanent residence simply for personal convenience. He is asking for an opportunity to finally establish a permanent foundation for his family after many years of living outside his country of citizenship and working to create stability for his wife and children.
We believe Mr. Amer also has much to contribute to Canada. His years of employment and management experience demonstrate responsibility, perseverance, and a strong work ethic. If permitted to remain and obtain authorization to work, he hopes to support himself, contribute to Canadian society, and continue building an independent and productive life.
For Manssour, permanent residence would mean much more than immigration status. It would provide stability after years of uncertainty, allow him to plan for his children's future, and give his family the opportunity to work toward living together in a secure environment.
We therefore respectfully ask Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada to consider Mr. Amer's circumstances as a whole, including his responsibilities as a husband and father, the interests of his children, his long history of supporting his family, his family connections in Canada, and his sincere desire to establish a stable and productive future here.
We believe Mr. Manssour Amer deserves the opportunity to continue building his life in Canada and to provide his family with the permanent foundation for which he has worked for many years.
We, the undersigned, respectfully support Mr. Manssour Amer's application for permanent residence in Canada on humanitarian and compassionate grounds. We ask Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada to consider his application with compassion and to allow him the opportunity to remain in Canada, establish himself, support his family, and continue building a secure future for his children.
