The McCarren Hotel and Pool consistently throws loud parties with heavy bass on their rooftop. When asked to turn the volume down, they either refuse or they turn it down for 10-20 minutes and then increase the volume again. When local residents call them to ask for the volume to be turned down, we are told that hotel managers have all gone home for the day. So the only person in charge of the volume is a DJ who has been hired by the hotel or outside party. There is never any accountability for their behavior. McCarren Hotel and Pool benefits from the richness and popularity of this neighborhood, while diminishing the quality of life of its neighbors and fellow community members. We ask that you recommend that their liquor licenses not be renewed unless they cease the loud music and live DJ parties.
