Under cover of the distraction caused by the pandemic, proceedings have commenced against Bernard Collaery, out of sight of public scrutiny. It is important for our democracy that we argue for open proceedings.

Attorney-General Christian Porter’s request for secrecy simply supports the widely-held view that Government wants to hide a crime - a crime that Australia committed as a wealthy nation against one of our poorest allies.

In this matter, the national security argument does not hold water. So I urge you to please contact Mr Porter’s ministerial office to demand transparency & an open trial:
