Miigwetch!/Thank You!

Miigwetch to all who have been understanding and compassionate to this struggle towards making the city of Kalamazoo more of a restorative and welcoming city, especially for Native-American people. Miigwetch to the Native voices who spoke out to teach and express personal feelings about how this imagery impacts them. Our hope is that Kalamazoo will realize that there are more that support removal than those that support restoration, and that the values of the city leaders will benefit all people, and not sacrifice Native-American healing and our present-day struggle for equity for those wishing to restore the fountain. We all deserve to have a public place to enjoy without reminders of great pain, past AND present, of our ethnic groups. Please share! The City Commission is scheduled to vote March 5, 2017 at City Hall in Kalamazoo. We are trying to pack the house with supporters.
