What a passionate response we've had so far to the campaign to save Reunion Center. In the first 24 hours we have had over 250 signatures for the petition, and dozens of positive and encouraging comments on social media, and emails.
We reached out directly to the City Council, as we encourage others to do so, to express our concern with the amendments. Mayor Huseman personally responded to tell us that this issue may come to a public hearing, but at this time no such date or time has been set. He is duty bound to not present his own personal opinions on the amendments at this time.
The Mayor is obligated to take into account facts presented to him during any public hearing. What that means for this campaign is that we encourage you all to attend if at all possible when the public hearing takes place, and to present arguments against the amendments.
Should we hear any more from the Mayor or the council members we will be sure to send another update to let you know when and where the meeting will take place. But for now, keep sharing and spreading the word so that we can be prepared for when the hearing(s) are announced.
Thank you all for your support thus far.
