The reason I believe that this idea is so important is that suicide in the military is one of the biggest issues active duty members in the military face. Being in the barracks and having depression is a huge issue that gets overlooked sometimes and having a dog or a pet in general is proven to reduce stress, anxiety, the feeling of loneliness and even help with PTSD. I wholeheartedly believe this could drastically reduce the amount of suicides in the military.
