Trevor Noah has been named Jon Stewart's successor on The Daily Show.  As many people have pointed out, this is unacceptable because he has offended people in the past.  

As I point out in my Great Writers Steal essay regarding the situation, comedy is too important to put into the hands of people who make jokes at the expense of ethnic groups, people, animals, ideas, inanimate objects or hypothetical concepts.

Instead, we must convince Comedy Central to give The Daily Show to a comedian whose comedy has never offended anyone or will be found to have offended someone in the future.  Please sign the petition and send a strong message that it's unacceptable to hurt someone's feelings.  Even by proxy.  Even if you've never met the person.  Even if it's not clear a person is or could be offended.

Please, strike a blow for responsible creativity and compassionate humor.
