Cody Virgil Nichols, 22, was shot and killed August 4th 2017 on Doulton Ct. a street/area in Wedgewood village apartments in Columbus Ohio. His Murder was never solved and has became a cold case. Cody was going places and had a bright future ahead of him but someone stole his life, living in poverty stole his life and gave him no chance of becoming a better person/father.

Changing the street name to remember Cody will be a way to say his name will never be forgotten and possibly prevent things like this from happening to other young people in the area. It would be a way of saying even though the justice system failed him his name will still live on.

I am Cody’s older sister and I‘m starting this petition so my brothers memory will always be apart of Columbus’ west side, a place he always loved and grew up in. Dedicating the street of the last place he lived and took his last breath on in his honor would prove he did mean something to a lot of people even though his murder is unsolved. This is something Cody Nichols deserves.
