Hey everyone,

The amount of signatures this has received in its first week is amazing! I never thought we'd get this much in such a short amount of time. I'm in awe of all the students and families that came together to show support. Thank you.

An email demanding answers and negotiation regarding our 2020-21 tuition will be sent to administration soon. This petition will be shown along with notable quotes from why people have signed will be mentioned. Don't stop sharing and signing! Let's not lose momentum on this and keep having our voices heard. With that being said,

Let's do more.

As students and families, there's more action we can take that'll let administration know we won't rest until a discount is negotiated.

I've mentioned this in the first update and have been talking to a lot students about this. It's going to have to take all of us to do. We need to talk about a payment strike. This kind of action is necessary to let administration know we are serious about what we're fighting for, that's fair tuition for the education we are now given. As students and families that make this school, we deserve better treatment and aid.

Let's look at the numbers..

I'm basing the enrollment off of a number from 2017-18 (6,934 undergraduates) by rounding it to 7,000 while I'm also considering drop of enrollment rate. Right now I have no numbers on graduates but I will find more information and send more updates.

For undergrads alone, the school is losing $1,862,000 by not increasing our tuition by 2%. However, if every signature was a student or family that was enrolled and refused to pay the current tuition, that's a loss of $19,957,500. POSSIBLY A 19 MILLION DOLLAR LOSS WITHOUT US. Of course, many family members and alumni also signed so the number is give or take. This is a rough estimate and shouldn't be taken for solid fact, I'm basing it off what I know.

Numbers do play a big part in this. What I'm trying to point out is that by doing this we can enforce change. Those change in numbers won't happen without us doing it together.

More updates about this and other forms of action will come, keep an eye out. But, think on this idea and don't be afraid to discuss further with questions or concerns. Reach out to me on ccclaneyn@gmail.com I am all ears, this is for us.

Jaida Page has a team forming a protest right now, reach out to her about joining us jaidapage@gmail.com !

Don't stop signing and sharing! Join the protest! These are few of the many actions we students need to take to ensure we get the treatment we deserve!
